Sylvia is a former member of the Jefferson Symphony. She holds several degrees in music from Colorado Christian University, with Master's Studies at Wichita State University. She brings over 30 years of musical experience, having performed in recording studios, orchestras, and with many famous musicians.
Having taught both beginners and advanced students, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that she draws upon to teach each of her students. Her students have been heard doing everything from making music for personal enjoyment, performing solos in their schools, or gaining scholarships to universities.

Sue Brownson is a native of North Carolina and a graduate of the North Carolina School of the Arts where she was a voice major and piano minor. She has taught both privately and in a school settings since 1980. Her approach is geared to the individual needs of the student. She is a member of the National Music Teacher's Association, Colorado State Music Teacher's Association and the Foothills Music Teacher's Association. Her goal is to provide her students with a lifelong love of music.
Elizabeth holds a Bachelors of Music Performance from Oral Roberts University, and has performed on stage, television and film.
As a lover of music, Elizabeth has a passion for imparting the same joy of music to her students through teaching. Having taught both children and adults in piano and voice, her greatest joy is to see them experience and bring joy to others with the music they have learned to make.
While earning her degree, Elizabeth won the 21st Century music competition scholarship and was the recipient of many scholarships including Music, Music Performance, Opera Theatre and Choral Scholarships.
Elizabeth has taught over 100 students per week through private and small group (1-2 students at a time) instruction. She has also directed choir and participated in many ensembles and choirs ranging from Vocal Chamber, Women's Choral, Mixed Choral, Musical Theatre, Opera Theatre and handbell ensembles. She has performed in 9 languages, and was the first person in the history of her university to pass the piano proficiency during her first semester of study. She graduated as Music Performance Student of the year.
Nathan Hance has traveled the world playing piano and now wants to share his love of music at home. Nathan graduated with a bachelor of music degree in theory/composition from Concordia College – Moorhead in 2010. As a student, he studied classical and jazz piano, as well as composition and arranging.
After graduation, Nathan worked as a pianist on Holland America Line cruise ships for three years, which brought him to 62 countries. He performed with well-known guest artists, such as Wayne Newton and Melissa Manchester.
Nathan is known for his versatility as a musician and his individualized and comprehensive teaching methods. Lessons are catered to each student’s interests and needs – Nathan often writes short compositions for his students to supplement their lessons – and all students learn to read music and play by ear. Aural skills, music theory, composition and musicality are taught in lessons. He hopes to share his love and passion for the piano with students of all ability levels.
April received her Master of Music Degree from the Longy School of Music of Bard College and her Bachelor’s Degree in Flute Performance from Northern Arizona University. Her teachers include Marco Granados and Emily McKay. She has served as principal flutist of the Longy Conservatory Orchestra and the Northern Arizona University Orchestra. April has performed in masterclasses for Trevor Wye, William Bennett, Lorna McGhee, Jennifer Grim, Stephanie Jutt, and Michelle Stanley.
April Cheung’s relationship with the flute was not love at first sight. However, after the piano and oboe, then failure to make a sound on her first flute lesson, she never put the flute down after 15 years. She took her flute to Las Vegas, Flagstaff, Boston, and is now in Denver. April maintained playing the piano through classes in her undergraduate and graduate years. She also loves electronic music and will be spending time delving into this new sound world in future endeavors.
April believes in the importance of social justice and equal opportunity, spending time volunteering for El Sistema Colorado and teaching flute sectionals at Adams City High School through the educational outreach program of the Colorado Wind Ensemble. She teaches private lessons in flute and piano throughout the Denver Metro Area, and looks forward to helping you in your musical journey.
Kevin has taught music privately for over five years. He is a theorist, classical guitar performer, and an elementary to intermediate piano instructor. Although he has taught forty students a week, he always makes sure his students enjoy their lessons by having fun at the same time as learning. By nature, and as a member of the USAF Reserves, Kevin is detail oriented and focus’ on student development. This is achieved by taking a step by step approach while making sure the student is always able to ask questions and understand. His goal is not just students who can play but students who know the “why” to the music.

Rachel holds a Bachelor of Music, in Music Composition, from Oral Roberts University where she also studied piano. During her time there she took up guitar with Christopher Brown and has since studied classical Guitar with Laura Husbands. In the past 15 years, Rachel has enjoyed playing in many environments including theater, church, weddings, and banquets.
Rachel has been trained in many musical styles and enjoys helping students find their niche in music whether that is popular music, such as Disney; Blues and Jazz Improvisation; Classical Music or Competitions. She loves making music fun as she teaches students how to pay attention to what they are hearing in order to produce the sounds appropriate for each piece. She also introduces music history to help students understand musical context. Rachel is a part of the Music Teacher’s National Association, Colorado Music Teacher’s Association and Aurora Music Teacher’s Association.
Boni McIntyre has her education from University of Northern Colorado in Vocal Performance (BM, MM) she has been a performer and music director in Denver for the last 15 years. With such career highlights as Mrs. Lovett, Sharon Graham and Abigail Adams ranging in theatres from Ignite, Miners Alley to the Arvada Center. Andrew Tekverk has been teaching voice, guitar, piano, music composition, and song writing to students ages 4 and up for 13 years throughout the New York City and tri-state area. He has earned a
Bachelors and Masters degree in Music and Music Education. Andrew has studied voice with opera stars such as Jacques Trussel, Thomas Goodheart, Brian Jauhianen, Eric Dilner, and Anthony Pulgrum.
Andrew has studied piano and guitar for over 25 years with several instructors including, Stefanie Watt, David Holtzman, and Aeree Kim. He has toured Europe and the United States performing several opera roles, playing in rock bands, perfoming in cathedrals, and other major venues. He
loves all genres of music and cares deeply about the educative process.
Dennis received his Masters degree in Music Ed from the University of Oklahoma, graduating with a combined degree—vocal and instrumental emphasis.
While getting his degree, he had the opportunity to perform with a professional touring production. Later, while serving in the U.S. Military, he was involved in the "Special Entertainment Division". Throughout his adult life, Dennis has been active in leading and performing musically in church, and has produced several albums.
He has taught Middle School and High School band and choir as well as private lessons in piano, guitar and trumpet. His experience and enjoyment of working with young people is also seen in spending hours each week teaching drive lessons at A+ Driving School in Parker Colorado, where he and his wife and several of his married children and grandchildren live.
Todd McCracken is a professional musician with Bachelor of Science in music and Master of Music degrees. He has performance and touring credits and over thirteen years of vocal and piano teaching experience. His background includes teaching all skill levels from young beginners to college pre-professional artists.
While serving as a college music professor he has taught applied piano lessons to both music majors and to non-musicians whose programs required exposure to music through basic piano skill. As a music faculty member he has served as accompanist for college instrumental and vocal ensembles. As a vocalist he studied with noted voice teachers Dr. Kathryn Proctor-Duax and Dr. Clifton Ware. He has performed internationally as a soloist, ensemble member and choral director across a variety of musical styles and genres. He has taught collegiate vocal music majors in addition to adult and child beginning vocalist. He is a requested vocal and choral clinician and has served as a adjudicator for voice contests and selection committees in several states.
He currently enjoys performing in his church and encouraging young students to enjoy music.

Doug Swanson earned his Bachelors of Music at Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA. During his time at Westminster he was a recipient of the Louis Armstrong award for promising jazz musicians and was invited to be a guest performer with the Westminster College faculty jazz on multiple occasions. He has also performed with the Play Mas steel drum band on bass steel drum, triple cello, and trumpet. In addition to his love of guitar, ukelele and piano, he has often been the trumpet soloist for religious and patriotic ceremonies.
For the past several years, he has helped inspire kids to love music through teaching in the public school system. He organized and managed large K-8 music programs at both the La Veta School in La Veta, CO and Greenwood Elementary in Aurora, CO. At the La Veta School he taught elementary music and 5th-8th grade band. He also founded a High School Jazz Band there that enjoyed many successful public performances in the La Veta area. He also taught elementary music and 5th grade after-school band as well as 6th-8th grade band.
Doug has enjoyed watching his student groups and private students grow in their ability to express themselves through musical performance. He looks forward to helping his students reach their musical goals, and continuing to inspiring their enjoyment of music.
